Getting Started with Online & Mobile Banking
Online & mobile banking tools have become a staple with most bank accounts, and for good reason. These digital platforms not only provide 24/7 access to your account balances and transaction history, but also allow you to pay bills, transfer funds, deposit checks, and more!
Whether you’re new to digital banking or just looking for a refresher, this post will guide you through everything you need to know to start setting up and utilizing online banking & the BG Mobile app.
First, you need to sign up for online banking. You can do this by clicking “Sign up for online banking” in the top right corner of this page. You will need to provide some personal and account information, such as your name, social security number, email address, account number, and PIN. You will also create a username and password for your online banking account. Once you complete the enrollment process, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to activate your online banking account within 1 business day.
After successfully activating your online banking account, you can then download the BG Mobile app from the App Store (IOS) or Google Play Store (Android). The app is free and compatible with most devices. To login, you will use the same username and password that you created for online banking.
Now that you have access to online banking and the BG Mobile app, you can start exploring and using their features. Both platforms have similar functionalities, but there are some differences. Here is a comparison of the main features:
Account Overview: Both platforms allow you to view your account balances, transactions, statements, and alerts. You can also customize your dashboard and settings.
Deposit Checks: The BG Mobile app allows you to deposit checks using your device’s camera. You just need to take a picture of the front and back of the check and enter the amount. You will receive a confirmation email when the deposit is processed.
BG Pay: Both platforms allow you to use BG Pay to pay your bills, transfer funds between accounts, or send money to friends & family conveniently and securely.
Card Valet: We’ve partnered with FiServ to provide you with extensive card controls using the Card Valet mobile app. Lock your debit card instantly, set transaction limits, and create custom alerts. Card Valet is available for free to all BankGloucester debit card holders. To get started, simply download the Card Valet app from the App Store (IOS) or Google Play Store (Android). The first time you login to the app, you will need to provide your BankGloucester debit card information to link your card to the app.
